When we first moved to Panamá our ministry focus was centered on encouraging, equipping, and training national pastors. The Lord allowed us to travel all over Panamá and get to know several pastors and believers in their local churches.
However, something happened that we did not expect. As we began to get settled into a new life, a new language, a new culture, and a new city, we realized that there was a great necessity in our own community – there was no local church. Through prayer and many conversations, we came to the following conclusion: how can we live in a community where there is no local church and not work to change that?
Therefore, after more prayer and many conversations, God provided a core group of 13 believers. By His grace, we planted Green Coast Baptist Church (Iglesia Bautista de Costa Verde) in February 2020. As you read about our mission, our vision, our team, and our local church, we hope you can get a sense of what we believe the Lord has led us to do.
We still have a desire to come along national pastors and encourage them as they serve the Lord and their local churches. Specifically, we desire to help other local churches have a biblical understanding of missions, and we also desire to help those local churches send out brothers and sisters in Christ as missionaries. Therefore, we have also established the Latin American Missions Society (Sociedad Latinoamericana de Misiones).
